VFF: The store's transformation is remarkable. What influenced the decision to remodel the facade with the bright pink and white color scheme?
Melissa: Pink is one of my favorites, and white offers a clean, fresh look. I wanted a memorable brand identity that would catch people's eye and create an inviting experience – something people would remember as the "store with the pink doors."
VFF: Your social media presence is fantastic – fun and engaging! How do you use social media to connect with your customers?
Melissa: We post pictures of our new arrivals every Thursday. I like to have myself and one of our employees model the clothing, so our customers can see the new styles coming in and get an idea of how the clothing fits. I also love to incorporate humor and relatable content in our videos to make people smile.
Challenges and Rewards of Running a Boutique
VFF: Every business faces hurdles. What was your biggest challenge in opening Dahlia's Boutique?
Melissa: Social media consistency has been a challenge. It requires constant posting and engagement. Another challenge is the dedication it takes. Running a business means working long hours and constantly thinking about it. However, the rewards far outweigh the challenges. I love connecting with people and being a part of their special moments, like helping them find the perfect outfit.
