Downtown Fergus Falls Mystery Tour
Its back for a limited time only, the infamous Otter Tail County Historical Society’s Downtown Fergus Falls Mystery Tour on Friday, June 21, 7pm. Meet in front of the historic River Inn. The admission is $10 per person. No reservations needed.
With all the churches and lack of drinking establishments, you would think Fergus Falls would be the most boring place on earth. But if you sit back and observe, there are enough odd characters and strange events to fill a notebook.
Is Nobel Prize winning author Sinclair Lewis’ description of 1942 Fergus Falls accurate or an exaggeration? Our sweet little town has a reputation for being quaint and quiet, where drivers stop for geese, and residents are tucked in before the sun goes down. Dig deeper, however, and a dark side is revealed that has been with us for generations.
As the Mystery Tour weaves throughout the downtown, people and events come to life. The OTCHS investigative team has uncovered stories that have been swept under the rug of history. Discover why Fergus Falls’ most destructive fire could have been prevented. Hear about illegal liquor, Gerda the Nude, and why the call letters to radio station KGDE were known locally as “Kaddatz Girls Do Everything.”
Join us for this fascinating look into the dark side of Fergus Falls. For more information, check out our website at www.otchs.org or call us at 218-736-6038.
