From Dream to Reality: A Gift Shop Grows Wings

Amy is not your average store owner. "I worked in a gift shop," Amy recalls, "before I had my children. And I absolutely loved it. The woman who owned the gift shop was my mentor. I mean, she taught me everything I know." However, Amy's ambitions soared beyond the shelves of someone else's store. "So she actually sold her place and moved away," Amy continues, "and then I raised my kids for a few years. And I've always wanted a gift shop in this town that could provide like a one-Stop Shop."

Starting small, Amy nurtured The Market from a tiny corner stocked with carefully chosen products. As word spread about her unique finds and friendly service, The Market blossomed, taking over the entire building next door. Today, it's a haven for treasure hunters, brimming with a kaleidoscope of gifts, homeware, and specialty treats.

A Feast for the Senses: A Shopping Adventure Awaits

Step through The Market's doors, and prepare to be swept away on a sensory journey. Beautifully arranged displays entice your eyes, while the aroma of specialty foods tickles your nose. "We have a wide variety of products, from specialty foods to home decor," Amy explains. "Having a little bit of everything across the board really helps people find something in there." Friendly staff, brimming with product knowledge, are always eager to help you discover the perfect gift or a hidden gem for your own home. As Amy says, "They learn about the products and they know the answers if customers ask them a question."

More Than Just Shopping: A Celebration of Community

The Market isn't just about great products; it's about fostering a sense of community. Amy believes in giving back, which is why all the profits from See's Candy sales go directly to Lakeland Hospice. It's a small gesture that reflects the heart of The Market – a place that cares about its customers and the town it calls home.

VIP Treatment Awaits: Unwrap Savings and Discoveries

As a sponsor of the Fergus Falls Summer VIP Pass, The Market is rolling out the red carpet for visitors. Flash your pass and enjoy a special 20% discount on one item (excluding food and coffee). It's the perfect excuse to indulge in a unique home decor piece, a delightful kitchen gadget (like Amy's beloved Snappy!), or a delectable treat to savor on the riverfront.

The Market: More Than a Store, It's an Adventure

Speaking of unique gadgets, Amy even has her own personal favorite! "I've been thinking about this and it's quite hard because there are so many things!" she laughs. "But one thing I always go to and everybody thinks I'm crazy is a kitchen gadget called the Snappy. So, it looks like a clam. You get to open it up and you get your lettuce, you get your spaghetti, and grab all that food that's impossible to get in the corners. And then you, you know, wash it and you just click a button and it stays closed and you put it in your drawer. The best thing ever!"

Amy's Favorite: The Snappy!

Even before you step inside, The Market piques your curiosity. "Our building is right in front of Spies Park right by the river where there's lots of things happening," Amy explains. "And, Leslie, our girl on our billboards, attracts people or at least they wonder what this is?" Amy smiles. "And it surprises me how many people have never been in here! Even people from Fergus Falls, you should see their faces when they discover all we offer!"

Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a first-time visitor to Fergus Falls, The Market promises an unforgettable experience. It's a place to find one-of-a-kind gifts, discover hidden gems for your home, and immerse yourself in the warm embrace of a community that thrives on local love. So, skip the ordinary souvenir shops and embark on a treasure hunt at The Market. You might just discover something truly special – and it might not even be on the shelves! Amy says it best: "There's such wonderful things going on in downtown Fergus Falls
